Patients must be 18 or over and under 70 years old for this service.

2. BMI and basic eligibility

BMI is used as part of the eligibility check. This service is normally suitable only where BMI is 30 or above, or BMI is 27 to 29.9 with a weight-related medical problem.

Seek urgent medical advice if you develop symptoms such as a severe allergic reaction, severe or persistent stomach pain, vomiting/diarrhoea causing dehydration, symptoms of pancreatitis, symptoms of hypoglycaemia, eye problems, or any other severe or concerning reaction.
